Omgosh SO much has happened since the last time I updated this blog. First off y'all I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL. I will be attending the University of Houston working toward my MFA starting (gasp) tomorrow.

Also I received 2 scholarships this semester. They helped a lot. Not sure I could have made this semester work without them. Thankyou so much sponsors!!!!

Annnnd I've picked out my studio at orientation! Here is a photo of it. Its not as creepy as it looks I promise...but I haven't been there overnight yet...so maybe I shouldn't vouch for it. Cant wait to break it in.

And here is a photo of all the stuff that goes in my empty studio that is currently in my car.....
After having 3 separate living situations plans fall apart on me... I've moved in (short-term) with a friend and her fabulous family on the edge of Houston. It's about a 30 minute commute to the university and a godsend.
There has also been so a lot of heartbreak this summer.
- I lost a very dear friend of mine 8 weeks ago.
- 3 weeks ago another friend had a freak heart attack.
- roughly 2 weeks ago a friend's grandmother lost herself to Alzheimers.
These back-to-back tragedies have reinforced what I already know: to celebrate life. Let things go of the things that don't matter and cling fiercely to the things that do. In the words of Neil Armstrong:
I believe every human has a finite number of heartbeats. I don't intend to waste any of mine.
but to end on a lighter note.....
