My practice is rooted in research, drawing from a diverse range of visual sources, including images from the web, zoos, museum taxidermy, and appropriated imagery from naturalists like William Tait and John James Audubon. Using Illustrator, I transform these references into scalable sketches, or "fragments," which can exist as standalone drawings or be etched and cut with a fusion laser. These fragments form a growing collection that I collage and layer to create compositions exploring the intersections of nature, history, and speculative fiction.
